Material handling product pricing - Political turmoil and an improving economy have industry
economists predicting steel prices poised to push storage rack prices higher into the summer and fall of 2012.
Steel prices bottomed in the later part of 2011. Since January, prices have continued to steadily trend strongly
higher into the spring of 2012. Commodity prices in general have seen drastic price swings this past year. With
everyone keeping eye on the mid-east, oil prices have once again spiked to worrisome levels. Many feel staples
likes corn, cotton, sugar, copper and steel may not be far behind. As the economy bottoms and recovers, commodity
and raw material prices could quickly increase with any hint of supply interruption. As we head into the summer
of 2012, some economists warn steel prices could soar from current levels. Any changes in the world political
climate could change supply and pricing without notice. Others contend that as our economy slowly recovers,
steel demand will only increase from current levels.

While many opinions differ on the timing and scope of how much steel and pallet rack prices will rise, the overall consensus strongly suggests the direction will be flat to higher - from current levels.
