Frequently Asked Questions

Can damaged pallet rack actually be repaired, or does it need to be replaced?

In most cases, damaged pallet rack can be repaired rather than replaced. SpaceGuard's Centurion™ rack repair kits restore the load capacity of damaged uprights using engineered bolt-on components, which is faster and significantly less expensive than removing and replacing the rack. The exception is severe structural damage to the frame itself — in those cases, full replacement is the safer option, and SJF can supply and install the new uprights from our in-stock inventory.

What is the difference between rack repair and column protection?

Column protection — like bollards, guardrail, or bolt-on column guards — is preventative, designed to absorb forklift impact before it reaches the rack upright. Rack repair is corrective, used to restore an upright that has already been damaged. Most warehouses need both: AisleGuard products help prevent future damage, while Centurion™ repair kits fix the damage that has already occurred.

Are SpaceGuard products engineered to meet safety standards?

For customers who only need the product shipped, we can supply equipment alone — but most projects benefit from having the same team handle design, supply, and installation.

How do I know when pallet rack damage needs to be addressed?
