What is Wire Deck?

Wire deck is a metal mesh grid that fits into pallet rack to provide support and safety for products stored on the rack. Simple installation high visibility through several rack levels make wire deck a favorite among warehouse managers worldwide. At its core, wire deck provides safety to workers by providing a barrier against falling product. Wire decks also improve air circulation and assist with fire safety by providing overhead sprinkler systems open access to lower levels in case of a fire. Many municipalities now require wire decks in lieu of plywood supports.

Wire Deck Styles

Standard/Step Waterfall

Standard (aka step) style decking with waterfalls sit in the steps of rack beams. The support channels on the beam steps and the waterfall wraps over the top of the beam.

Universal

This style of wire deck features a flared flange at each end. The flange allows these decks to be used with either box or step beams. As with step style, a waterfall wraps around the beam.

Flush

Flush decks are exactly the same as standard style – only they do not have a waterfall that wraps around the rack beam. This style deck gives pallet racking a nice, clean look.

SJF stocks all three of these styles in both galvanized or powder-coat finishes.
