Buyers Guide for Less Common Pallet Rack Types
Over the years, several different pallet rack manufacturers have come and gone. While not altogether uncommon, many of these brands can be difficult to find. Some of these are still being made, others are not. Below, you'll find a table with some of the more common brands illustrated. Key Identification Details
Upright Frames
The vertical structure that dictates the height and depth of the pallet racking system. Two upright frames are needed for a starting bay. Once the first structure is in place, only one additional upright frame is needed to add on. Upright frames come in two post sizes depending on weight capacity needs.
Beams
The horizontal weight-bearing structure connecting upright frames to each other. Beams come in different lengths and heights depending on the size needed and the weight of stored items. They come in step or box style, which allow the use of optional supports or decking. Beams can be adjusted and reconfigured as needs change.
Common Accessories
- Wire decking to add a mesh layer over beams so items don't fall through and to add strength
- Post protectors to protect the base of upright frames from forklifts
- Wall ties, back-to-back ties and anchors for additional stability
- Safety panels and straps to prevent stored items from falling off
- Spacers and pallet supports for added system integrity
